We woke up early and found our way to the local Cenex for some morning fuel. Cenex was our only option for food throughout some stretches of North Dakota and we began to yell its name whenever we saw its symbol. We had a nice ride into Ashland where we met up with the majestic lake Superior again. We rode away from the water and rode into the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We kept a good pace for most of the day but fell well short of our double century goal of the night before. We stopped and watched some Tour de France action in Wakefield and said goodbye to Route 2. We sampled our first Pasty in Bergland. We ended the day at 126 miles in Bruce's Crossing where we camped in a caged covered recreation area with basketball courts. We spotted some locals who hung out with their cars near the Pavillion. One of them played frisbee with Will and I as the sun set. We used the shower facilities and cooked spaghetti with isopropyl alcohol in tea candle cases over a broken desk chair. We fell asleep to the sound of the locals talking and driving in and out of the parking lot.
