7/15 New Wheel/Rainstorm/Pavillion

I started the day off unsure of whether my bike could make it all the way to Owen Sound.  My rear wheel was cracked and could not be trued.  But I had no other option so I disconnected my rear break and started riding.  I was surprisingly stoic about the whole affair and stayed not too far behind the rest of the crew as we descended down the Bruce Penisula.  Our destination was Owen Sound, where there was a few bike stores where I could find a new wheel.  As I approached the town my bike grew wobblier and wobblier until 3 blocks from bike store the spokes began to pull out and I coasted in just in time.  The good people at Bikeface cycling hooked me up with a new rear wheel and gave me a trade in on my 105 hub.  We ate at a pretty nice place for lunch and got on our way out of town.  We were facing a bit of a headwind and it was hot out.  The ride was hilly on gray road number 3, and I found a nice swimming hole off the side of the road.  When we got to the corner of grey road 3 and 4 we were forced to go east on 4 due to construction.  The road was super busy and very sketchy.  After a garbage truck nearly hit us and we saw a terrible thunderstorm coming we pulled off to a roadside stand to take cover.  I felt relieved to be alive after the close encounter with the garbage truck and stared at all the treats available.  I soon was over joyed to find that they accepted debit and I bought crackers, cheese and a frozen strawberry rhubarb pie.  We talked with the high school senior who was running the stand and he told us  about the exploits of Durham.  We ate the frozen pie right there at the store, wished the kid good luck at college next year, and rode into Durham after the storm had passed.  We stopped at the local gazebo and deemed it too leaky and forged on ahead and found an awesome park at the Durham Conservation Area.  We found exactly what we were looking for, a huge pavillion.  There were two high school students, Matt and Megan at the Pavillion.  We showed them our pictures and told them our stories and we wished them luck in future.  We played frisbee under one of the most stunning sunsets of the trip as a double rainbow graced the sky.

This is what happen when you don't true your wheels

It was raining very hard

So we ate frozen pie and cheese
