We woke up to a sunny sky along Lake Ontario and went for a morning swim. We got back on the bike path that followed the Lake until it dumped us on a road that paralled the busy Queen Elizabeth way. We road through suburban communities and then biked over the the Queensway and ate breakfast at a busy roadside stop. The stressed commuters and soccer moms left me a bit shocked and we got back on some more roads that paralleled the busy Queensway. At one point traffic was stopped and we cheered and jeered at the cars as we passed them in droves. We travelled on marked bike routes to Port Dalhouise where we eventually found a sweet cinder path right next to Lake Ontario, where we swam on the hot day. We crossed a canal and then biked through orchard land as we approached Niagra. We made our way to the Niagra River where we took the bike path south to reach the Falls. We saw lots of commotion as we approached the falls and the Rainbow Bridge, our entryway back into the United States. We entered America, found an inadequate bike store for Goody's need of a new tire and then found an Indian Buffet. We, the only six patrons at the buffet put down a substantial amount of food and then rode to Goat Island to view the falls. There were many people about and it was generally a happy scene. But at the same time we saw the casinos and the over development behind the falls and read about how the great waters are now regulated and supported by concrete. We thought back to the lonely dessert at the falling waters of Pallouse Falls. We made a loop around Goat island and found our way to a sick bike only road next to the Robert Moses Parkway. We played disc at Whirlpool state Park as the sun went down and then made a campsite in the woods, hung out on the playground a bit and went to bed.
